DDC Assurance Lab is not an accredited laboratory.

Terms of service

Clear scope, bounded claims, explicit responsibilities.

These terms apply to DDC Assurance Lab website use and services unless a signed engagement document states different terms.

Effective date: September 1, 2026

1. Services

DDC Assurance Lab provides technical review, assurance-oriented analysis, research, conformance and repository assessment, and related digital deliverables. Each engagement is limited to the stated scope, evidence, methods, assumptions, and limitations.

DDCAL is not an accredited laboratory and does not represent its work as regulatory certification, statutory approval, legal advice, or professional engineering certification unless an applicable future engagement expressly and lawfully establishes otherwise.

2. Customer responsibilities

You must provide accurate information and may submit only systems, repositories, files, URLs, evidence, or other materials that you are authorized to provide for the requested work. Do not provide secrets or regulated/confidential material through a public intake path unless DDCAL has expressly authorized a suitable evidence-handling channel.

3. Prices and payment

Prices displayed at checkout are the prices for the selected service at the time of purchase, excluding any taxes or charges that are separately disclosed. Payment processing may be provided by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor. DDCAL does not require customers to send raw payment-card details directly to DDCAL.

4. Delivery and scope changes

Digital services begin after payment and receipt of sufficient intake information unless otherwise stated. If the requested work materially exceeds the purchased scope, DDCAL may pause work and request a revised scope or additional purchase rather than silently expanding the engagement.

5. Cancellations, corrections, and refunds

Requests made before substantive customized work begins will normally be eligible for cancellation and refund. After analysis or assessment work has materially begun, or after a customized digital deliverable has been delivered, refunds may be limited to duplicate charges, non-delivery, material service error, or another issue DDCAL determines warrants correction or refund. Where practical, DDCAL may first correct or re-perform deficient work. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Refund or charge questions should be sent to inquiry@ddcal.ca.

6. No guarantee of outcome

A DDCAL result is an evidence-based technical conclusion within a defined scope. It does not guarantee that a system is error-free, secure against every threat, legally compliant in every jurisdiction, commercially successful, or suitable for an unstated purpose. A result may change if the tested system, dependencies, configuration, evidence, or relevant conditions change.

7. Intellectual property and deliverables

You retain ownership of materials you submit. DDCAL retains ownership of its pre-existing methodologies, internal tools, templates, procedures, evaluation logic, and know-how. Unless an engagement states otherwise, a paid customer may use the delivered report or output for its own legitimate business, technical, procurement, funding, or internal assurance purposes, subject to any stated publication or confidentiality restrictions.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use DDCAL services to obtain unauthorized access, assess systems without appropriate authority where authorization is required, submit malicious content for execution, misrepresent DDCAL findings, or remove material scope and limitation statements from a report in a way that changes its meaning.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DDCAL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from a service. For a paid service, DDCAL's aggregate liability arising from that service will not exceed the amount paid for that specific service, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated for future purchases. The version in effect when a service is purchased applies unless a later agreement expressly replaces it.
